Overview
Designed and delivered Golfhubber's comprehensive golf ecosystem unifying tournament management, automated handicap analytics, and social networking across six game formats and five user types. Clubs, societies, and individual golfers were brought together in one platform — with e-commerce, messaging, and live leaderboards fully integrated.
The Challenge
Golf clubs and societies lacked a unified platform to manage tournaments, process payments, and engage members — real-time leaderboards, entry management, and player statistics handled across disconnected tools with no central system.
Golfers had no centralised platform to track game progression, maintain handicaps, and engage with a community — scoring, social sharing, and commerce fragmented across separate apps and manual processes.
Solution
Built a multi-platform ecosystem with native mobile apps for golfers and web applications for clubs, societies, and companies — managing tournaments, teams, scoring, and commerce from a single unified platform.
Developed sophisticated scoring engines supporting six game formats (Stableford, Strokeplay, Matchplay, Multirounds, Texas Scramble) with flexible handicap selection, real-time leaderboard calculations, and simultaneous multi-player score entry.
Created a data science layer analysing player performance across all scorecards and tournaments — automatically calculating adjusted handicaps and delivering detailed game statistics for measurable performance tracking.
Implemented a rich social networking infrastructure with live stories, group messaging, media feeds, and full-text search — alongside integrated e-commerce for merchandise, lessons, tee times, and vouchers transacted entirely within the platform.
